What We Believe

Thank you for taking a few minutes to “visit” Cedar Valley Community Church. At cvCc, we are passionate about pursuing Jesus Christ and becoming a conduit of his love to our world. In fact, are heart is to make the love of Jesus Christ is so real that everyone-no matter what-can experience the life-changing love, joy and peace of God.

Sometimes we refer to our "Way" of doing church as Immersion. This is simply one way of expressing our desire to live lives that reflect the love of God through Jesus Christ in everything we do, “to become a community of faith making visible the love of Jesus Christ and welcoming all to experience the transforming ways of our life-giving God.”  Put perhaps more simply, we will live lives in which we:

  • Embrace God's Word expectantly;
  • Follow Jesus Christ Faithfully;
  • Invest in one another intentionally; and
  • Share God's grace freely.
  •

    Now maybe you aren't ready to say whether you believe in God or Jesus. Maybe you don’t know what you believe about the Bible. That's OK. We all have questions, and we invite you to join us anyway as we “walk” through these questions together.

    While we are committed to living in the Way of Christ, we welcome anyone with a desire to explore the claims of Christ to journey with us. Whether you want to stand back, put your foot in the water or go ahead and dive right in there's a place for you at Cedar Valley.

    Thanks for visiting. We hope to see you in person very soon!

    Yours gladly,
    Pastor Eric

    Our Anchors

    The Basics of Immersion

    God is real. He created everything—including you and me—and invited humanity to care for and be a blessing to his world.

    God's creation was very good and was filled with incredible potential. But, something went tragically wrong both in our hearts and in our world. While referred to in many ways, this "something" is sometimes known as "sin." Sin is anything that breaks fellowship with God or others. It is anything that does not reflect the love and goodness of God.

    God, however, never gives up on us--even more God never gives up on you--and God is now in the process of restoring the hearts and lives of all those who long for him. God does this work through his son, Jesus Christ.

    Jesus Christ, through his life, death and resurrection, restored humanity's relationship with God and makes it possible for you and me to become a new creation, free from sin, guilt and shame. Through Jesus, God has made it possible for each of us to be a part of his ongoing work of renewal and new creation, important participants in a new world of mercy, justice, opportunity and grace.

    Jesus Christ is best known through the Bible, through God's visible community, he church, and through purpose-filled fellowship with others who sincerely seek to experience the transforming ways of our life-giving God.

    Jesus Christ invites all who claim his name to embrace his Word, to live in the light of his Way, Truth and Life and to take God's good news of faith, hope and love to our neighbor, our community, our nation and our world.
